Ari Papowitz

Undergraduate Student

Ari is an undergraduate studying mathematics and neuroscience at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Before transferring to NYU, he studied  at Brandeis University, where he worked in the Xu Lab on supramolecular peptide assemblies in living cells for cancer therapeutics. Ari brings a computational background in machine learning and optimization, along with experience in decoding EMG signals. His long-term goal is to develop brain-computer interfaces that can restore movement. He hopes to get there by pairing computational methods with a deep understanding of how sensorimotor circuits generate movement, which is what drew him to the Mosberger Lab.
